Director Payments and Risk
This is a great opportunity for a senior payments and risk leader to use prior experience to demonstrate the ability to make broad operational and product improvements that impact the whole company across many departments (Finance, Product/Engineering, Operations).
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Set strategy and direction for payments optimization and fraud prevention to enable growth of marketplace commerce through direct development of payment processors/gateways, risk technology, compliance policies and fraud detection capabilities, with the goal to maximize online payment and order completion while minimizing processing costs and loss due to fraud
- Expand operations into new markets and grow the business on a global scale. Manage international and local payment portfolio and roadmap, enhance payment partnerships and lead payment business operations
- Manage Trust and Safety Team. Drive a culture of operational excellence and decrease net cost of fraud
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
- 8-10 years experience defining and implementing payment programs and fraud prevention for e-commerce marketplace buyers and sellers
- Knowledge and familiarity with payment and fraud protection tools and best of breed vendors in the USA and internationally (initial focus on Europe)
- Experience at a payment processor/gateway a plus
- Experience managing a small team
- Mobile commerce experience a plus
- Demonstrated experience working directly with executive leadership to align payment and risk strategy with company objectives
- An obsession in driving optimal performance whilst balancing performance and cost. Constantly challenging the status quo for a better solution
- Ability to lead and influence across multiple teams and departments such as Finance, Product, Engineering, Tax, and Trust and Safety to achieve a goal without managing resources directly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
